President of Green Spark Group
Zena Harris is President of Green Spark Group, the only sustainability consultancy in British Columbia dedicated to the implementation of sustainable production practices in the motion picture industry. She has worked with studios such as 21st Century Fox and NBCUniversal to implement sustainable production practices on film and tv shows. Most notably she was the sustainability consultant on 'The X-Files' (a 21st Century Fox Production) that diverted 81% of waste and demonstrated industry leadership in British Columbia. Additionally, she consults with industry organizations such as Creative BC, and is the Creative Director of the Vancouver International Film Festival's Sustainable Production Forum, a first-of-its-kind event in North America. Zena holds a master's degree from Harvard University in Sustainability and Environmental Management and has done extensive research on sustainability in the motion picture industry and the cross linkage between global sustainability frameworks and motion picture industry best practices. In addition to her work at Green Spark Group, she works in the field of corporate sustainability as a consultant at Sustainserv, Inc. and is the Executive Director of the International Sustainable Campus Network (ISCN) global nonprofit. She also serves on the Board of Directors of the Squamish Arts Council.
