Tasha Day
Manager of Filming and Special Events, City of Long Beach
Tasha Day is the Manager of Special Events and Filming for the City of Long Beach (CA). She has been in the department for 16 years and in the industry for over 20 years. She has a Sociology degree from Cal State Long Beach and is a member of both the AFCI and Film Liaisons in California Statewide (FLICS).
The City of Long Beach issues appoximately 500 filming permits each year and 500 special event permits, most notably the Long Beach Grand Prix and Long Beach Marathon.
This is the city's second nomination for this award, last year for Dexter and this year for NCIS-LA. The Long Beach film department has worked with NCIS-LA crewmembers on multiple shoots during last season's episodes, including a tanker explosion at Junipero Beach and a bridge closure and boat explosion in their plot-twisting 5th season.
