Ricardo Costa Reis was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, studied in Angola, and has lived in South Africa, France, Spain, to Brazil, and Los Angeles. Ricardo has been working for his father’s company RCR Media Group for the past two years. During that time he founded RCR Connect and is now CEO of the company. The RCR Connect platform (app and website) is a game-changer in the casting industry and will level the playing field so that everyone has an equal opportunity to make their dreams come true. Ricardo speaks English, Spanish, Portuguese, French and Italian. He spends one month per year in Beijing learning Mandarin, and immersing himself in the Chinese culture and movie industry.

In late 2014, the AFCI and its industry partners will unveil a wide-ranging schedule tailored to filmmakers representing all budgets and genres. Popular topics at last year’s show included the rise of filmmaking in the emerging markets of Brazil, Russia, China and India; candid conversations with the key players—a.k.a. location mavericks—of location filming; navigating documentary filmmaking on foreign soil; exclusive dialogue on independent and big-name movie making with the producers themselves, and much more.
