Director, Sustainability, Warner Bros. Entertainment
Mike Slavich joined Warner Bros. Entertainment in November 2005. As Director of Sustainability, he is responsible for leading the enterprise-wide integration of environmentally sustainable business practices globally. Core strategies include green film and television production practices, energy conservation measures, waste reduction programs and procurement efforts. Slavich collaborates with internal stakeholders and industry partners to design and pilot innovative programs that can be successfully scaled for maximum impact. Slavich also directs awareness campaigns to drive behavioral change and vets emerging technologies for viability and value. Further, he works closely with senior management at both Warner Bros. and Time Warner to ensure that ongoing sustainability efforts directly support the business objectives of cost savings and strategic growth.
Previously, Slavich served as Manager of Franchise Management for Universal Pictures, overseeing brand strategies across Theatrical, Home Entertainment, Consumer Products, Interactive, Online, Promotions and Theme Parks divisions. Slavich began his career in entertainment as a story researcher at DreamWorks SKG for both live-action and feature animated films. He then joined Steven Spielberg’s Starbright Foundation where he served as Editor of Starbright World, an award-winning computer support network connecting chronically ill children from over 100 hospitals across the country through interactive games, chat rooms and video-conferencing technology.
