Karen Fouts, Senior Vice President, Warner Bros. Pictures, has two decades of production finance experience and leadership at Warner Bros. Entertainment. Karen has developed and implemented many of the current accounting procedures used at Warner Bros. for production budgeting and is regarded as an expert in worldwide production incentives. She and her staff are in charge of coordinating all of the foreign and domestic tax incentive policies throughout the company. Karen started her career at Warner Bros. in 1986 as a Financial Analyst moving to Theatrical Production in 1987. In her time with Theatrical Production, she has worked in a number of positions, including Budgeter, Accountant, and Estimator. Throughout her tenure, she has played instrumental roles in many of Warner Bros. largest feature films including the Batman films, Blood Diamond, Happy Feet, 300, Green Lantern, the Sex & the City films, the Sherlock Holmes films, Contagion, Lucky One, Horrible Bosses, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, Journey 2, and Rock of Ages.
In her current role as Senior Vice President of Production Planning and Estimating at Warner Bros. Pictures, Karen is responsible for coordination, administration, research, and tracking financial/tax incentives. She has implemented detailed accounting policies and guidelines specific to financial incentives and audits to comply with government agency requirements for feature films that are produced domestically and abroad in locales such as Australia, Bulgaria, Italy, France, Canada, Japan, UK, Thailand, South Africa, and New Zealand. As an additional benefit, the guidelines she designed have streamlined accounting systems which have simplified the final stage of the application process for domestic and foreign tax incentives.
