Eric Witt
Government/Industry Consultant
Eric Witt served as Dep. Chief of Staff and Director of Legislative/Political Affairs for New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson from 2003-2010. During that time he also oversaw the implementation and explosive growth of that state’s film and television incentive program, one of the first and most successful in the current incentive era, with production growing from less than $10 million in 2002 to over $4 billion in impact over the next eight years. Standout productions included “No Country for Old Men,” “The Book of Eli,” “Transformers,” “Thor,” the hit television series “Breaking Bad” and “In Plain Sight,” and the current mega hit, “The Avengers,” among many others.
Prior to his government service Mr. Witt was Executive Vice President of Finance at Dino De Laurentiis Communications, then one of the largest independent production houses in Hollywood. He brings a unique perspective to the incentive discussion combining high levels of experience in both public and private sectors. Mr. Witt currently works with industry and administrations at all levels to maximize the utility of incentives to productions, and their returns to the sponsoring governments.
