Robert Bentley
Location Manager, Homeland
Robert is a Film Locations Manager based in the Mother City of Cape Town in South Africa. Whilst most of his work takes place in and around Cape Town he has worked extensively all over the country as well as in the neighbouring countries of Namibia and Mozambique. He specialises in finding and securing the best possible location options to help achieve the Film Directors vision.
He started his career in 1993 studying in Durban and then moved to Johannesburg to work in the industry. After a stint in London travelling and experiencing the world he returned to Cape Town where he has been scouting and location managing since 1998. In 2009 he was awarded the Cape Film Commissions “Imbongi Award” for being “Cape Town’s best locations Professional"
Recently Robert has been involved as a Locations Manager on a number of prestigious projects namely Mandela-Long Walk to Freedom, directed by Justin Chadwick shot in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Kwazulu Natal, Avengers- the Age of Ultron, directed by Joss Whedon and John Mahaffey. He was a Location Manager on the fourth season of Homeland which has been nominated by the Locations Guild of America for “Outstanding Locations in a Contemporary Television Series”.
In his spare time Robert enjoys a braai (bar-b-que) and sampling many of the great Cape wines with his family and friends.
